Hesse Ministry of the Interior announces leadership changes
Hesse's Ministry of the Interior is undergoing significant leadership transitions. Torsten Krückemeier has been officially appointed as the new Police President for Southeast Hesse, effective October 21. Krückemeier, 47, succeeds Daniel Muth, who moved to the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) in December 2025. The police headquarters had been without a complete leadership team for nearly eleven months, during which Vice President Anja Wetz managed operations.
Additionally, Isabell Hemsley, the current Mayor of Hanau, will become the State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of the Interior on November 1. She replaces Martin Rößler, who is transitioning to lead the Gießen Regional Council. In his new role, Rößler will also oversee the state's initial reception center for refugees. Hemsley, a business lawyer with municipal experience, will work alongside Interior Minister Roman Poseck to address internal security and local government issues.
