Hessen allocates 1.5 million euros for digital volunteerism
The state of Hessen has announced that 1.5 million euros will be allocated in 2026 through the “Ehrenamt digitalisiert!” funding program. The initiative aims to support clubs and non-profit organizations in their digital development, specifically targeting projects that strengthen digital structures such as modern membership management, digital communication, and technology training.
State Parliament Member Birgit Heitland noted that the program helps organizations utilize digitalization to ease volunteer work and maintain social cohesion. Since its inception in 2020, the program has funded over 980 projects with a total of approximately 9.2 million euros. Individual grants range between 5,000 and 15,000 euros. Applications for the 2026 cycle can be submitted via a central online platform between April 27 and May 12, 2026.
