Itamar Ben-Gvir sparks outrage with calls for targeted killings in Gaza

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has sparked widespread international condemnation following statements regarding targeted killings in the Gaza Strip. Ben-Gvir publicly suggested that 30 to 40 people should be 'removed' through targeted killings every night, adding that some people in Gaza do not deserve to live.

In Germany, political leaders across party lines have reacted with outrage. Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil described the remarks as 'inhumane' and stated that the Federal Government cannot accept such statements. Klingbeil called for the serious examination of sanctions against Ben-Gvir at the European Union level.

Other German politicians have also demanded action. Green Party leader Franziska Brantner called for an entry ban against Ben-Gvir, while CDU politician Jürgen Hardt urged the EU to impose sanctions to uphold human dignity and rights. The comments have also drawn criticism from international figures and Jewish community leaders in Austria.
