Düsseldorf court sentences man for forced prostitution of minors

A 30-year-old Swiss national has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison by the Düsseldorf District Court for forced prostitution, pimping, human trafficking, and drug offenses.

According to the court, the defendant used social media to contact male minors, aged 15 to 17, between 2020 and 2022. He lured them to his apartment in Düsseldorf with promises of luxury, love, or permanent housing, and used alcohol and drugs to make them compliant before offering them to older men for prostitution.

The presiding judge noted that the sentence was mitigated by the defendant's extensive confession and the prolonged duration of the legal proceedings. While the prosecution had sought four and a half years, rape allegations against the man were dismissed due to lack of evidence.
