Hessen Police launch traffic safety and prevention programs

The Hessen Police are implementing various traffic safety and prevention initiatives for young people. In North Hesse, the police are offering a free bicycle training program during the autumn holidays from October 5 to October 8, 2026. Held at the Kassel-Marbachshöhe Youth Traffic School, the course is designed for children aged nine to twelve and includes both theoretical and practical instruction to improve bicycle handling and road safety.

In East Hesse, the police launched the ‘CrashKurs’ prevention program at the Modellschule Obersberg. This initiative aims to sensitize young drivers and students to the risks of alcohol, drugs, distraction, and speeding. The event featured presentations from emergency responders regarding the consequences of serious accidents, followed by workshops where students could interact directly with police, paramedics, firefighters, and pastoral care workers.
