Hessian Film and Cinema Awards held in Frankfurt

The 37th Hessian Film and Cinema Awards were held in a small, intimate setting at the German Film Institute & Film Museum in Frankfurt. To ensure that prize money and film subsidies remained undiminished, the organizers opted to forgo a large-scale gala this year.

Art and Culture Minister Timon Gremmels attended the ceremony, highlighting the successes of Hessen Film & Medien during its tenth anniversary. He noted that six supported productions were represented at the Berlinale, and a Hessen-supported film competed at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time. Gremmels emphasized the region's commitment to fostering new talent and maintaining a vibrant cinema landscape.

Katharina Rivilis was honored with the award for Best Feature Film for ‘I’ll be gone in June’.
