Hessian students conduct biotechnology research at Marburg university

Sixteen high-achieving students from various Hessian schools participated in the 41st Erfinderlabor (Inventor's Lab) organized by the Zentrum für Chemie (ZFC) at Philipps-Universität Marburg. The week-long program allowed students to conduct research on advanced topics in biotechnology and drug development.

Research projects included investigating bacteriophages as potential alternatives to antibiotics and exploring gel-based drug delivery systems using molecules like Parietin to treat vascular malformations. The students presented their findings to approximately 200 guests from the fields of science, business, and politics, including the Hessian Minister of Education, Armin Schwarz.

The program, which saw 196 applicants for its recent sessions, aims to foster curiosity and talent in STEM (MINT) subjects among students aged 8 to 19.
