Hessischer Turnverband prioritizes athlete welfare at 44th Landesturntag
The 44th Landesturntag of the Hessischer Turnverband (HTV) focused on organizational modernization and athlete welfare. A primary outcome was the adoption of a 'Safe Sport' principle, which establishes that the well-being of children and adolescents takes precedence over competitive success, training interests, or organizational goals.
To strengthen integrity, the association is introducing an ethics commission and a Safe Sport Code. Structural changes include a new statute to better define management tasks and a revised contribution system to increase financial transparency.
Ulrich Müller was unanimously re-elected as President. He will be supported by Vice Presidents Dr. Katja Ferger, Boris Held, Dr. Annalena Mickel, and Heike Schnoor, with Oliver Weinke joining the presidency. Hesse Sports Minister Diana Stolz also addressed the assembly, emphasizing the government's commitment to promoting sports.
