HeTIC project launches workshops on colonial heritage
The HeTIC project (Héritages, Transferts, Identités en Contact) is launching a series of workshops and seminars for the 2026-2027 academic year. Funded by Nantes Université, the project examines the relationships between France and its former colonies, focusing on shared colonial legacies and the dynamics of acceptance, appropriation, or rejection that follow such histories.
Throughout the year, the program will feature experts from various fields, including law, economics, linguistics, and history, to explore how societies reconstruct themselves after traumatic shared histories. The inaugural session, scheduled for October 2, 2026, will focus on educational systems in postcolonial societies. This session will include contributions from André Ndobo, a psychology researcher at Nantes Université, and Sébastien Lefèvre, a Spanish researcher from Gaston Berger University in Senegal.
