Heusden municipality seeks public input on renewable energy
The municipality of Heusden is conducting research into the future generation and storage of sustainable energy. The investigation covers large-scale options such as wind turbines, solar panel arrays, and large-scale battery storage, as well as alternatives like green gas from biomass, water energy, small-scale nuclear energy, and hydrogen production.
To support the national goal of having 27% of energy from renewable sources by 2030 and a nearly fully sustainable supply by 2050, the municipality is inviting residents and stakeholders to participate. A questionnaire will be open from October 1 to November 1, 2026. The participation process will also include walk-in meetings and the establishment of a sounding board group to address local concerns and ideas.
