HeuvellandWandel4daagse Sets Record with 8,000 Walkers in Limburg

The HeuvellandWandel4daagse four‑day walking event in South Limburg is slated for a record‑breaking edition on 6‑9 August, expecting around 8,000 participants, including 500 children. This will be the first year the event is run by The PEPR Company after it took over from the former foundation. Organiser Roy Packbier highlighted the achievement as a testament to volunteer and community support.

More than 300 volunteers will handle safety, refreshments, traffic control and reception throughout the routes that start in Berg en Terblijt and traverse the hilly Limburg landscape. The opening ceremony on 5 August features the mascot Polke, mayor Daan Prevoo of Valkenburg‑aan‑de‑Geul, and performances by illusionist Nigel Otermans and singer Martin Hurkens. Daily entertainment will continue on the event grounds for the duration of the walk.
