Hezbollah allegedly targets Argentine intelligence official Diego Kravetz

Argentine security forces have been alerted to a potential plan by Hezbollah to carry out selective assassinations within Argentina. Intelligence reports from foreign agencies have identified Diego Kravetz, the Undersecretary of the State Intelligence Secretariat (SIDE), as a primary target.

The warnings originated from two distinct international sources. In late April, a European intelligence service reported information from a source in Lebanon suggesting Hezbollah was targeting five individuals in the country. Approximately two weeks later, a second report from Saudi Arabian intelligence corroborated the threat, narrowing the list of potential targets to three individuals, with Kravetz again named.

Following these alerts, Kravetz’s personal and family security has been reinforced. The matter was discussed during a confidential meeting of the Congressional Bicameral Intelligence Commission, which included high-ranking officials from Argentina's intelligence agencies. Unlike previous large-scale attacks linked to Hezbollah in Argentina, such as the 1992 Israeli Embassy bombing and the 1994 AMIA attack, these current alerts specifically describe a hypothesis of targeted, selective assassinations.
