Hezbollah and Hamas increase military friction with Israel

Israeli military intelligence reports indicate that Hezbollah and Hamas are coordinating, with support from Iran, to increase friction and pressure on Israeli forces along both the northern and southern fronts.

In southern Lebanon, a strategic struggle is unfolding around Ali al-Tahir Hill. This high-altitude location provides significant visual and fire control over the Marjayoun plain and the town of Khiam. Israeli military sources describe a ‘war of wits’ occurring in the area, as Hezbollah attempts to monitor troop movements and supply elements within underground tunnel networks. A recent drone attack targeting an engineering unit resulted in three Israeli soldiers being seriously wounded.

While Hezbollah works to maintain supply lines to its personnel in tunnels, the Israel Defense Forces are focused on locating and neutralizing these underground infrastructures. Simultaneously, along the Gaza border, Israeli officials observe increased activity from Hamas as part of a broader effort to test Israel’s capacity for escalation.
