Hezbollah admits ownership of explosives seized in Lebanon

Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah has admitted that hundreds of kilograms of explosives seized by Lebanese security forces last week belong to the group. Speaking at the Lebanese parliament, Fadlallah stated the materials were intended for use against Israeli forces occupying parts of Lebanese territory.

Security sources and Hezbollah officials indicated the explosives were likely destined for use in explosive-laden drones targeting Israeli troops. The seizure occurred at a checkpoint in the Bekaa region when authorities stopped a vehicle carrying a heavy load. Two individuals were arrested during the operation.

The admission comes amid heightened tensions regarding the Lebanese government's efforts to disarm Hezbollah and bring all weapons under state control. On March 2, the government officially banned Hezbollah's military activities. Fadlallah has called for the release of the detainees and the return of the confiscated materials.
