Hezbollah congratulates President Lula on re-election

Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed Lebanese organization, issued a statement through its Al-Manar media outlet congratulating Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his re-election as President of Brazil. The group described the victory as a renewal of the Brazilian people's confidence in his administration.

The communication praised Lula's international stances, specifically his support for the Palestinian cause and his criticisms of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip. Hezbollah also expressed support for ending the United States' economic embargo on Cuba and advocated for strengthened cooperation between Brazil, Lebanon, and Cuba.

Lula's positions on Middle Eastern conflicts have previously caused diplomatic friction with Israeli officials. Hezbollah is classified as a terrorist organization by the United States, Israel, and the United Kingdom.
