Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem warns of Middle East restructuring

Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem stated that the Middle East is undergoing a “historic restructuring” regarding its image and the regional balance of power. Speaking during a commemoration of the birth of the Prophet Mohammad and Islamic Unity Week, Qassem characterized the current geopolitical landscape as a confrontation between two major trends.

He identified the first trend as the “American tyrannical arrogance” alongside Israel, accusing the United States of attempting to expand its control and lay the groundwork for the establishment of “Greater Israel.” The second trend, according to Qassem, consists of the Islamic Republic and the “resistance” movements in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen.

Qassem asserted that despite what he described as criminal methods and acts of genocide used by opponents on all fronts, the resistance has not been defeated. He noted that while immense sacrifices have been made in Lebanon, Palestine, Iran, Yemen, and Iraq, the movement has not been forced to capitulate or be displaced.
