Hezbollah leader signals willingness to meet new Syrian leadership

Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem has expressed a willingness to hold a public meeting with the new Syrian leadership "at the appropriate time," signaling a potential attempt to redefine the group's relationship with Damascus.

Under the leadership of Ahmad al-Sharaa, the new Syrian administration has distanced itself from the previous era of cooperation with Hezbollah. Unlike the previous regime, the current Syrian leadership is focused on state institution building, border security, and coordinating with the Lebanese state to prevent smuggling and arms trafficking.
