Hezbollah rejects US‑brokered Israel‑Lebanon framework, Iran demands Israeli withdrawal
Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said the framework agreement signed in Washington between Israel, Lebanon and the United States is “null and unwanted,” calling it humiliating and a surrender of sovereignty. He argued that only the June 17 memorandum between the United States and Iran, which calls for a halt to hostilities, should apply.
Iran’s officials reiterated that any final deal with Washington must include a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, making the pullout a prerequisite for a lasting settlement. Israel’s army later confirmed its first airstrike since the agreement, targeting suspected militants in Lebanon’s Nabatieh region.
