Hezbollah shifts to guerrilla warfare tactics in southern Lebanon

Israeli military officials report that Hezbollah is transitioning toward guerrilla warfare tactics in southern Lebanon following significant strikes against its leadership and military infrastructure. Intelligence suggests the group is adapting to the current battlefield reality by deploying small, clandestine cells capable of conducting localized operations such as planting explosives, launching anti-tank missiles, and performing sniper attacks to avoid detection.

Following recent military operations in the Ali al-Tahir mountain range, Israeli Northern Command officers have expressed concerns regarding the long-term risks of maintaining a presence within Lebanese territory. There are fears that Israeli forces could become stationary targets for small cells, a challenge described by officials as the ‘Lebanese mud.’

Major General Rafi Milo, commander of the Northern Command, has designated a ‘kill zone’ separating Israeli-controlled areas from Hezbollah-controlled territory, stating that any individual entering this zone will be neutralized. Despite Israeli control over certain points, military assessments indicate that Hezbollah remains capable of attempting to re-establish presence near areas like Majdal Zoun and Mansouri through individual elements or small groups.
