Hội An launches 2026 Creative Space Design Competition

The Hội An Creative Space Design Competition 2026 has been officially launched at the Hoài River Square. Part of a project to promote innovation for youth and community sustainable urban development, the initiative is implemented by the Hội An World Heritage Management Center and UN-Habitat, with funding from Fondation Botnar and technical support from AIA SEA.

The competition invites architects, designers, students, artisans, and local residents to propose ideas for a modular creative space system. The goal is to create a multifunctional public area that serves various groups, including youth, artists, and small businesses, while respecting the architectural and landscape preservation requirements of the heritage urban area.

Proposed designs are encouraged to use lightweight, flexible, and reusable solutions that can be easily dismantled. The project aims to find feasible solutions for public spaces, promote community co-creation, and test green, sustainable design methods that can be implemented in real-world settings.
