Hialeah man arrested for alleged child abuse at Lowe’s

José Cremades, a 65-year-old resident of Hialeah, has been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious conduct following an incident at a Lowe’s home improvement store. The allegations involve the sexual abuse of a four-year-old girl during a weekend visit to the location on West 37th Street.

According to police reports and a forensic interview conducted at the Kristi House Children’s Advocacy Center, the victim stated that Cremades reached under her dress multiple times. Surveillance footage from the store reportedly corroborates the allegations, showing Cremades crouching near the child and later following other young girls through the aisles.

In addition to the abuse charge, prosecutors have filed two counts of petty theft against Cremades. During a court appearance, Circuit Judge Mindy S. Glazer denied bail and issued a restraining order prohibiting Cremades from approaching the victim or the Lowe’s location.

Cremades has an extensive criminal history in Miami-Dade County spanning over two decades, including multiple prior arrests and convictions for third-degree grand theft. He is currently being held at the MetroWest Detention Center with an immigration hold from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
