Hibernian FC signs winger Rabbi Matondo on permanent deal

Hibernian FC has announced the permanent signing of winger Rabbi Matondo on a deal lasting until the end of the 2026/27 campaign. The 26-year-old Welsh international joins the club following a trial period and a recent stint with Norwegian side SK Brann.

Matondo brings extensive experience to Easter Road, having previously played for Manchester City, FC Schalke 04, and Rangers, where he made 70 appearances. Hibernian manager Marink Reedijk noted that Matondo provides pace and directness, while Sporting Director Malky Mackay described the signing as an important boost for the team during this stage of the season.

The transfer has drawn significant attention in Glasgow, with former Rangers teammates and associates, including Todd Cantwell and Kemar Roofe, offering public support for the player's return to the Scottish Premiership.
