Hibernian signs Manchester United midfielder Jacob Devaney on loan

Hibernian has secured the loan signing of 19-year-old Manchester United midfielder Jacob Devaney for the current season. The move follows interest from several other clubs, with Hibernian moving decisively to finalize the deal.

Devaney, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, previously gained experience in the Scottish Premiership during a loan spell with St Mirren last season. He has been involved with the Manchester United first team during pre-season and previously captained their Under-21 side.

Hibs sporting director Malky Mackay expressed delight at the signing, noting Devaney’s caliber and his existing experience in Scottish football. The midfielder is expected to provide technical quality to the Hibernian squad as they compete in the Premiership and prepare for upcoming European qualifying matches.
