HID expands mobile access capabilities and Pekao introduces QR code login

HID has announced updates to its mobile access solutions, allowing organizations to transition to mobile credentials without replacing existing infrastructure. By utilizing existing Seos® keys and compatible readers, such as HID Signo™ and iCLASS® SE™, companies can implement mobile access without firmware updates or hardware reconfiguration. The HID Mobile Access application has also expanded its digital wallet support to include Samsung Wallet, alongside existing support for Apple and Google Wallet.

In the banking sector, Bank Pekao S.A. is introducing a QR code login method for its Pekao24 internet banking service. Users can log in by scanning a code with a standard smartphone camera or through the updated PeoPay application. This new mechanism aims to streamline the authentication process and potentially reduce reliance on masked passwords, which security specialists have noted as a less secure traditional method.
