HID updates mobile access platform to support existing readers
HID has announced an update to its HID Mobile Access platform, designed to facilitate the transition from physical plastic card readers to digital smartphone identification without requiring hardware replacements. The update allows existing compatible readers to recognize Seos keys, enabling companies to leverage their current infrastructure and avoid the costs associated with replacing access control devices or reconfiguring door wiring.
Key features of the update include integration with Samsung Wallet, allowing users to store access keys alongside other digital documents. Additionally, the HID Linq Mobile application enables remote management, allowing operators to configure parameters and update firmware via Bluetooth or NFC. The company also introduced the ‘QuickStart to Mobile’ methodology to assist in the rapid deployment of digital credentials to large groups of employees.
