Hida Outdoor Freak event to be held in Takayama City

The outdoor event ‘Hida Outdoor Freak #07’ is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2026, at Frespo Hida Takayama in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture. Organized by the local citizen group HIDA OUTDOOR FREAKS, the event aims to promote diverse ways of enjoying the outdoors.

Attendees can participate in six themed activity attractions covering topics such as climbing, woodworking, botanical interests, candle making, lichens, and fire-based living. The event will also feature 12 booths selling outdoor gear and handmade items, alongside nine food stalls offering local specialties including river fish, wild game, and craft beer.

Project leader Jun Takemoto noted that the event has become a regional staple, with a previous installment in August drawing approximately 5,200 visitors. Admission to the event is free.
