Hidaka Town DAY held at Monbetsu Racecourse

Hidaka Town DAY was held at Monbetsu Racecourse on October 8, serving as a collaborative regional promotion event between Hidaka Town and Hokkaido Keiba. The event featured various sponsored races named after local associations and specialties, such as the ‘Enjoy! Hidaka Town DAY Prize’ and the ‘Exquisite! Tonekko Jingisukan Prize’.

To celebrate the novel ‘The Royal Family’ by Kazuma Hayami, which features Hidaka as a setting, the event included special giveaways such as signed books and original library cards. A live fanfare performance of Koji Tamaki’s ‘Fanfare’ was provided by the Tomikawa Junior High School brass band before the 11th race.

Local food vendors participated through the ‘Umauma Kitchen 2026’, offering regional specialties including pizza, seafood, and takoyaki. The 11th race, the ‘The Royal Family Memorial Special’, was won by Blitz Fang, trained by Hiroto Kawashima. Total betting sales for the day reached approximately 653 million yen, with 944 attendees recorded.
