Hidalgo and Tamaulipas launch major credit and investment drives
Governor Julio Menchaca of Hidalgo signed the Impulso Nafin+Hidalgo 2026‑2027 agreement, expanding state‑backed credit for micro, small and medium enterprises. The program raised the number of loans from 26 in 2022 to 256 last year, supporting 764 firms across 60 municipalities and preserving 13,143 formal jobs. For the 2026‑2027 period, more than 700 million pesos will be available, with loans up to 5 million pesos, a maximum fixed annual interest rate of 14.75 %, terms of up to 60 months and no opening‑fee commission. Menchaca said, “Hoy, Hidalgo se proyecta en el escenario nacional.”
In Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mayor Eduardo Gattás announced that at least 12 new companies are expected to start operations in 2026, targeting investment above 1.25 billion pesos—exceeding the 1.1 billion‑peso record set in 2025. The influx is projected to generate temporary construction jobs and permanent positions once businesses open, including a pending agreement with a major retail chain that would add around nine new stores to the city.
