Hidalgo cultural traditions and Xantolo featured in Berlin
The government of Hidalgo is working to expand its cultural presence in Europe through collaborations with Mexican institutions based in Germany. During a meeting in Berlin, officials from the Hidalgo Secretariat of Culture, the Mexican Embassy, and The Americas Research Network discussed mechanisms to promote the state's artistic expressions, traditions, and crafts to European audiences.
As part of the ‘Day of the Dead in Berlin’ program, Hidalgo presented a traditional Xantolo altar inspired by the Huasteca region. The exhibition included wooden masks from San Agustín Metzquititlán, artisanal crafts from Chilcuautla, and Tenango de Doria embroidery. The initiative aims to foster exchange and recognition for local creators while strengthening ties with Mexican communities residing in Germany.
