Parral, Chihuahua hosts legislative session and Villista festivities

During the same period, the annual Jornadas Villistas celebrated with a large Cabalgata Villista arrival in Zapién, bringing roughly 200 riders from several Mexican states and Arizona. The event featured cultural programs including theater, dance, and concerts by notable performers, highlighting Parral’s role as a cultural and historic tourism hub.

Deputy José Luis Villalobos urged permanent tourism strategies, citing the city’s four‑century heritage and its economic impact on local families. Deputy Ismael Pérez Pavía presented a point of agreement urging federal agencies to secure ecological flow for the San Pedro‑Meoqui wetland, stressing its importance for biodiversity and regional water regulation.
