Hidalgo del Parral municipal syndic accuses city government of exclusion
The elected municipal syndic of Hidalgo del Parral in Chihuahua, Mexico, publicly denounced being excluded from official events by the municipal administration. She highlighted that, during a ceremony for the delivery of a fire‑truck, the government listed the substitute syndicate member, Paulina Duarte, as a special guest while she, the titular syndic, received no invitation despite her constitutional duties to oversee municipal finances and assets.
The syndic described this as a repeated practice of the current administration, stating that she has been omitted from numerous public ceremonies, civic events, and institutional activities. She argued that such exclusion violates legal provisions governing the representation of the elected syndic and serves to marginalize her authority.
The statement calls for respect of the elected office and urges the municipal government to cease the pattern of invisibilisation and to include the titular syndic in all official engagements.
