Hidalgo Electoral Tribunal confirms public funding redistribution

The Electoral Tribunal of the State of Hidalgo (TEEH) has confirmed the redistribution of public financing for national political parties for the period of July to December 2026. This decision follows the incorporation of Somos and PAZ, two newly registered national political forces, into the funding distribution by the State Electoral Institute of Hidalgo (IEEH).

The ruling determined that the local electoral body acted within the legal framework, noting that the Hidalgo Electoral Code establishes a differentiated regime for distributing resources between national and local parties. The law prevents the discretionary modification of formulas or the merging of funds intended for these two distinct groups.

The controversy was raised by the Labor Party (PT) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), who challenged the existence of two separate financing schemes based on arguments of proportionality and equity. However, Magistrate Rosa Amparo Martínez Lechuga ruled the grievances unfounded, stating that the legal precedents cited by the parties applied to different jurisdictional and budgetary circumstances.
