Hidalgo government distributes agricultural support to 498 producers

The government of Hidalgo, through the Secretariat of Agricultural Development (Saderh), has distributed agricultural, livestock, and aquaculture support to 498 producers across 11 municipalities, including the Otomí-Tepehua and Valle de Tulancingo regions. The initiative, led by Saderh head Napoleón González Pérez, involved an investment exceeding 5.1 million pesos to provide equipment, seeds, tools, and livestock.

Specific aid included poultry equipment, coffee plants, citrus, apple trees, and porcine breeding stock. In the aquaculture sector, 200,000 tilapia and carp fry were distributed. González Pérez noted that Hidalgo has maintained the top position in certified farms for two consecutive years.

In Tulancingo, local authorities reported a nearly 400 percent increase in the operational budget for the Secretariat of the Field. This funding has supported over 1,400 requests for agricultural aid and facilitated training for 580 producers in milk, honey, and agriculture through field schools. Additional efforts include forest recovery by planting 2,000 pines, the installation of 97 backyard orchards, and food transformation workshops to help families generate income.
