Hidalgo hosts national meeting for Telebachillerato Comunitario
The second National Meeting of State Coordinators of the Telebachillerato Comunitario 2026 has commenced in Hidalgo, Mexico. The event has brought together representatives from all 32 Mexican states to discuss the future of the community high school subsystem.
Natividad Castrejón Valdez, the Secretary of Public Education of Hidalgo, inaugurated the meeting, describing the Telebachillerato Comunitario as a vital tool for social justice. He noted that the program expands upper secondary education opportunities for youth in remote communities, preventing many from having to abandon their academic training.
Federal officials, including Undersecretary of Upper Secondary Education Tania Rodríguez Mora and Director General Uladimir Valdez Pereznuñez, participated remotely to reaffirm their commitment to supporting student retention and graduation. The meeting aims to foster dialogue between state coordinations to build a more equitable educational framework for Mexico.
