Hidalgo implements economic inclusion programs for LGBTTTIQ+ and disabled residents
The Hidalgo Secretariat of Welfare and Social Inclusion (Sebiso) is implementing various initiatives to promote economic autonomy for marginalized groups in the state.
Under the Inclusive Development program, approximately 291 members of the LGBTTTIQ+ community have received financial support of up to 20,000 pesos via bank cards. Ricardo Gómez Moreno, head of Sebiso, stated that these funds are intended to boost productive and community projects related to health promotion, human rights defense, and inclusive economic development.
Additionally, the state government is expanding commercial opportunities for entrepreneurs with disabilities. Through Sebiso, families have participated in artisanal and commercial pavilions, such as the Feria de San Francisco Pachuca, to sell products including textiles, food, and crafts. Alfonso Hayyim Flores Barrera, director of Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities, noted that these efforts aim to strengthen employment possibilities, skill acquisition, and the creation of support networks through institutional alliances.
