Hidalgo implements electoral reforms and security measures

The Hidalgo State Congress approved an electoral reform with 23 votes in favor and two against, with the PRI party voting in opposition. The reform modifies the state's Electoral Code, including a reduction in the number of municipal council positions to increase administrative efficiency.

In security matters, Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar announced that over 5,000 police officers will be deployed across Hidalgo to ensure safety during patriotic festivities. Recent operations in 14 municipalities resulted in 24 arrests and the seizure of over 4,500 doses of narcotics and several weapons.

Social and health initiatives are also underway in the state. The State System to Prevent and Eradicate Violence against Women reported on progress regarding gender equality and institutional coordination. Additionally, the State Commission for the Sustainable Development of Indigenous Peoples (CEDSPI) is launching visual health campaigns in Huichapan and Santiago de Anaya, providing free eye exams and prescription glasses.
