Hidalgo police arrest two for counterfeit currency in Huasca

Authorities in Hidalgo arrested a man and a woman in Huasca de Ocampo for allegedly attempting to use counterfeit currency at a local business. The arrest occurred after a shop owner alerted the Secretaría de Seguridad Pública de Hidalgo (SSPH) upon discovering a fraudulent 500-peso note.

Following the report, security agents intercepted the suspects shortly after the transaction. During a search, officers recovered 45 counterfeit 500-peso bills, totaling 22,500 pesos. The individuals, identified as J. L. M. V. and A. A. E. from the State of Mexico, have been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry for further investigation.
