Hidalgo reviews land plots for Wellbeing Housing Program
Authorities in Hidalgo are coordinating across three levels of government to identify and analyze land plots for the ‘Programa de Vivienda para el Bienestar’ (Housing for Wellbeing Program). This federal initiative, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, aims to reduce housing shortages and support low-income families by providing access to safe, dignified, and adequate housing.
Miguel Ángel Tello Vargas, head of the Hidalgo Planning and Prospecting Unit (Uplaph), stated that a working group is evaluating land donation requests based on legal status, availability of basic services, infrastructure, accessibility, connectivity, and environmental conditions. The goal is to ensure new residential developments are functional and integrated with public spaces and green areas.
In Hidalgo, technical reviews are currently underway in several strategic municipalities, including San Agustín Tlaxiaca, Zempoala, Mineral de la Reforma, Tepeapulco, El Arenal, Tepeji del Río de Ocampo, and Tulancingo. This effort aligns with Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar’s vision for orderly urban growth and inclusive community environments.
