Hidalgo's College of Bachelors Launches New Schools and Infrastructure Upgrades

The Colegio de Bachilleres del Estado de Hidalgo (Cobaeh) will receive government support this year to build new school facilities in Progreso de Obregón and Zimapán, replacing a decade of operation in borrowed premises. The projects aim to acquire land and construct the buildings in phases, with an estimated rent saving of about 437,000 pesos for the two sites.

In addition, 111 Cobaeh schools will join the federal "La Escuela es Nuestra" program, granting each between 600,000 and 1 million pesos for infrastructure, equipment and services. Through the PAPPEMS initiative, 50 schools received 2.2 million pesos in 2025 to improve accessibility for students with disabilities, with similar or higher investment planned for the current year. These actions are part of the Hidalgo state government's effort, led by Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar and Education Secretary Natividad Castrejón Valdez, to strengthen medium‑level secondary education across the state.
