Hidayet Kışlalı named Ahisi of the Year in Zonguldak

Hidayet Kışlalı, a 67-year-old motor mechanic from the Devrek district of Zonguldak, has been named the ‘Ahisi of the Year’ during the 39th Ahilik Week celebrations.

Kışlalı began his career as an apprentice in the industrial site at age 12 and opened his own shop at 22. Over a 45-year career, he has trained more than 20 young people to reach master status, with some continuing to work in the sector both locally and abroad.

Nominated by the Devrek Chamber of Tradesmen, Kışlalı was selected by a provincial jury. He expressed his gratitude to local officials, including the Devrek Chamber of Tradesmen President Recep Yüksel and Governor Osman Hacıbektaşoğlu, noting that the honor is a significant milestone in his lifelong dedication to his craft and vocational education.
