Hideki Kamiya criticizes Zelda: The Wind Waker on X

Game developer Hideki Kamiya, known for titles such as Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and Resident Evil, sparked a social media debate after criticizing the Nintendo GameCube classic, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

Kamiya expressed his long-standing dislike for the game, describing it as a “sh*tty game” focused on the repetitive mechanic of using a baton to change wind direction to hunt for treasure. His criticisms specifically target the wind-changing mechanics, the search for Triforce fragments, and the perceived lack of dungeons compared to other entries in the series.

Following his initial comments, Kamiya engaged in extensive arguments with fans on the platform X. The volume of his responses was so high that he reached the platform's daily posting limit, prompting him to purchase an X Premium subscription to continue the exchange. He later remarked, “Yesterday I responded to too many insects.”
