HIFK dominates handball season opener

HIFK has made a dominant start to the new handball season in Finland. In the women's league, HIFK secured a massive 50–10 victory against Pargas IF (PIF) in their season opener. PIF, returning to the top division after several years, struggled significantly, conceding 27 goals in the first half alone. Linda Juvala led the scoring for HIFK with nine goals, while Ella Holopainen added seven.

On the men's side, HIFK is also entering the season as a favorite for the championship. Both the men's and women's teams are currently coached by Robin Karlsson, who faces the challenge of leading both squads toward potential gold medals. Experts are monitoring whether HIFK can successfully defend their status and secure a double championship this season.
