HIFK wins 3–0 in debut match for new head coach Tommi Miettinen

HIFK secured a 3–0 victory over Kiekko-Espoo in the debut match of new head coach Tommi Miettinen. The win breaks a three-game losing streak for the team following the departure of former coach Olli Jokinen.

Iiro Pakarinen played a central role in the victory, scoring an early powerplay goal. The match also featured a second goal credited to Eetu Liukas after a mistake by Kiekko-Espoo goaltender Petteri Rimpinen, who deflected the puck into his own net. Kiekko-Espoo had two goals disallowed during the game due to interference with HIFK goaltender Hugo Alnefelt.

Following the retirement of Jori Lehterä, Pakarinen has transitioned from a winger to the team's primary center, maintaining a point-per-game pace. Analysts noted improved team cohesion and a more compact defensive structure under Miettinen's leadership.
