HIFK wins season opener against HPK despite structural concerns

Center Jake Leschyshyn highlighted the physical impact of the top line, consisting of Leschyshyn, Eetu Liukas, and Niko Huuhtanen. Leschyshyn noted that their aggressive hitting style helped ignite the game, a sentiment echoed by Jokinen, who praised the line's shared mindset and training performance.

Following a historically poor previous season, HIFK has undergone significant roster changes. Under the direction of Jokinen and new General Manager Janne Laukkanen, the team has recruited several players with previous ties to the coach, including connections from his former club, Timrå IK, to foster better integration of the team's tactical systems.
