High Court delivers murder convictions in Eswatini and Zambia
In Eswatini, the High Court has found former Deputy Sheriff Vusi Charles Mncina guilty of murdering four women and attempting to murder a fifth during a shooting in Ezulwini on October 28, 2023. The victims were identified as Lungile Shongwe, Fikile Shongwe, Cynthia Khulile Shongwe, and Nonhlanhla Thwala. The sole survivor, Thuli Mkhwanazi, testified that Mncina opened fire on the women while they were gathered in a small pantry.
In a separate legal proceeding in Zambia, testimony was provided regarding the death of retired Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha. A nurse from the Maina Soko Military Medical Centre testified that Shikapwasha arrived at the facility stating his gun had fired. Forensic evidence, including DNA analysis from a towel found at the scene, matched the late General. His widow, Jane Lusengo, is currently facing murder charges in connection with the incident.
