High Court grants stay on sale of Martin Foley’s Dublin home

The High Court has granted a stay on the sale of a Dublin home belonging to Martin ‘The Viper’ Foley until Friday. Foley, a veteran gangland criminal, is challenging a bid by the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) to seize and sell his property on Cashel Avenue, Kimmage.

Foley appeared in court representing himself, explaining that he lacked legal counsel because his solicitor passed away suddenly last Sunday. He requested an extension of time to appeal a 2024 court order that granted CAB possession and the right to sell the residence.

Counsel for the CAB noted that a previous 18-month stay on the sale was set to expire this Thursday. Foley argued that an extension is necessary to prevent irreversible consequences to his family home, where he resides with his wife and 11-year-old child, ahead of a scheduled hearing on December 9.
