High Court orders security review for MLA Mehraj Malik

The Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh High Court has ordered the government to review the security arrangements for AAP MLA Mehraj Malik within six weeks. Justice Sanjay Dhar directed that Malik’s case be presented to the Security Review Coordination Committee (SRCC) to assess his threat perception and determine appropriate security measures.

Malik filed the petition after his security cover was reduced and his escort vehicle was withdrawn. He argued that his security should be based on actual threat levels rather than political perception, noting that he is the only one among the 90 MLAs in the Union Territory traveling without an escort despite prevailing security concerns.
