High Follow-up Committee condemns incitement against Rambam Hospital staff

The High Follow-up Committee for the Arab Community has condemned an Israeli incitement campaign targeting Arab medical staff at Rambam Hospital. The committee described the campaign as a racial escalation aimed at reducing Palestinian presence within the healthcare sector.

According to a statement issued Monday, the committee accused Defense Minister Israel Katz and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir of leading the campaign by spreading what the committee calls “false and baseless” accusations against staff members. The committee noted that these allegations lack evidence of discrimination in patient care. Rambam Hospital management reportedly conducted an investigation into the claims and confirmed they are “void and have no basis in truth.”

Jamal Zahalka, head of the High Follow-up Committee, criticized government policies for prioritizing resources for settlement and military activities over investments in the healthcare sector, such as increasing medical staff and hospital beds. He emphasized that Arab medical professionals continue to perform their duties with dedication and professional ethics.
