High-profit films of 2026 see massive returns on low budgets

Several films released in 2026 have achieved extraordinary profit margins relative to their production budgets. The Indian film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has become a major box office success, earning approximately 300 crore rupees worldwide within 42 days of its release. Produced on a budget of 2 crore rupees, the film has earned roughly 150 times its initial cost.

In the international market, the Chinese animated film ‘New Lai’ has reported even more extreme returns. With a reported budget of only 1 lakh rupees, the film has collected around 41 crore rupees, representing a profit margin of over 4,100 times its budget. Additionally, the horror-mystery film ‘Obsession’ has seen significant success, with an estimated budget of 7 crore rupees resulting in a worldwide collection of approximately 4,290 crore rupees.

Other notable mentions include the Gujarati film ‘Lalo Krishna Sada Sahayate’, which earned over 122 crore rupees from a 50 lakh rupee budget. These cases highlight a trend where strong content can drive massive commercial success despite limited resources and small star casts.
