High school football season begins with early regional victories

High school football seasons are underway across various regions, with early performances shaping local rankings. In Florida, Venice secured a narrow 42-40 overtime victory against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee after traveling to the Georgia-North Carolina border. Port Charlotte demonstrated offensive depth by scoring 63 points in their opener, led by quarterback Logan Flaherty and running back Bruce Blanden. Meanwhile, Charlotte’s defense recorded a shutout against Fort Myers, forcing five turnovers.
